Beta

GameCP Beta Releases are for individuals to help test the latest changes to the GameCP software.

You should only install a Beta release if you understand the following:

• Beta's are for testing & may not work fully
• You know how to backup and restore GameCP
• You will report all bugs to http://bugs.gamecp.com

Installing a Beta Release

Installing the GameCP beta is identical to updating or installing GameCP.

If updating backup GameCP first!

• Login to your web-server via ftp or some other method
• Download the Beta http://gamecp.com/get/from/this/mirror/GameCPX-Beta.zip
• Extract GameCPX-Beta.zip to a folder
• Upload the contents of GameCPX-Beta.zip to the web-based folder
  • Example: /var/www/html/gamecpx
  • Example: C:\wamp\htdocs\gamecpx
• Open a web-browser and browse to the installer folder
  • Example: http://localhost/gamecpx/installer

Clean Update

Clean updates will ensure all files and folders are of the latest edition and that nothing extra, old or unused remains.

• Backup your web-panel by making a zip or tar of it, save the backup file
• Backup your database in MySQL
• Move your web-files to a new folder, "old"
• Download the Beta http://gamecp.com/get/from/this/mirror/GameCPX-Beta.zip
• Extract GameCPX-Beta.zip to a folder
• Upload the contents of GameCPX-Beta.zip to the web-based folder
• Move "old/includes/mysql.inc.php" to "includes/mysql.inc.php"
• Browse to installer/ to upgrade
• Once upgraded remove installer and "old" (make sure its backed up)

Upgrade Remote Servers

Remote Servers should also be upgraded for full beta testing

Backup your remote server first!

You should backup the bin folders, gamecp.ini, gamecp and update files before upgrading!
