The GameCP master server can be installed onto your website without the use of root access.

Follow these basic steps

• PHP exec()
• MySQL

For advanced features to work you need:

• rrdtool
• screen

Install GameCP

1. Download GameCP to your Desktop
2. Unzip it
3. Upload the files as binary to your webserver via FTP - put them in a folder for your panel, ie panel or gcp
   1. You may need to set file permissions to correct ownership and modes (644) of the files after uploading
4. Browse to the folder you created from the web
5. If you see any errors on the screen your webhost will need to fix them - send them a list of the GameCP Requirements so they know what is needed
6. Run the installer, install GameCP, do not provide a "root password" when/if asked

Configure GameCP

Now that GameCP is installed you will need to configure the "backend" so your webserver can read it.

By default this goes into a folder your webserver needs special permissions to access.

Here we can change it to a folder your webserver can already access, you will need to do this on most shared systems.

1. Login to GameCP
2. Navigate to GameCP Settings > General
3. Change Backend Path: to be a full path that your webserver can access
4. Download the GameCP Backend to your Desktop
5. Upload the files to the folder you created
6. In the folder create 2 folders, "primary" and "userdata"
